Q: How do I obtain a quote for services my company needs?
A: Our Sales team is ready to assist you. Please contact us at (480) 736-1970 x 23. Or e-mail us at sales@premierS2.com or sales@premierTest.com

Q: Why utilize a domestic service provider vs. going off-shore?
A: Many times companies cannot afford the long turn around/shipping times and costs associated with an off-shore vendor. Typically your low volume, high mix of product do not fit the off-shore mold of mainstream, high volume production. In fact most Military, Aerospace and some Medical products require manufacturing and test content be largely processed in the US, thus precluding the off-shore option. Premier has the capacity to process high volume requirements in relatively short cycle times.

Q: What type of equipment does Premier Semiconductor use?
A: Premier Semiconductor has invested in industry leading equipment. Our Electrical Test, Programming, Tape & Reel, Mark, Lead Inspection, Lead Repair, Reballing, solder dip and Pb free conversion equipment, allows for automated processing (as opposed to manual). This automation enhances process repeatability, yield and quality. There has been additional equipment acquisition of Decap Systems and Optical Magnification and Photography equipment for use in the area of Counterfeit Detection.

Q: What is the typical experience level of Premier Semiconductor employees?
A: Our employees have vast experience and training in performing the services we offer. Most of our people have been doing this for no less than 4 years some having over 22 years of experience. RoHS is very explicit about which substances should be restricted and the precise levels that may be tolerated for mercury, cadmium, lead, Hexavalent chromium, PBB and PBDE in electronic products.

Q: Can you convert Tin-Lead IC's to Pb free?
Can you perform Pb free conversion for Tin-Lead IC's?
A: Yes, Tin-Lead is removed from IC termination pins or balls and replaced with Pb-free tin. Also, Pb-free is removed from pins or balls and replaced with Tin-Lead. Various solder alloys of Tin-Lead and Pb -free compositions are available. Our expertise is available to assist you with your conversion needs and help ease the transition process. In addition, other package integrity issues are safeguarded by virtue of our ability to perform automated detape & retape, scan, repair, re-bake, mark integrity and Pb identification.

Q: We have old parts in stock, how can we verify if the solder finish is still good?
If part finish is not good, can the finish be restored?
A: Solderability evaluation is performed to verify compliance to MIL-STD-883 or J-STD-002 standards requirements. Lead finishes are either accepted or rejected based on solder coating coverage, dewetting or non-wetting. A certificate of conformance is issued for accepted lots. The lead finish for rejected lots could then be restored to acceptable criteria.
